This past year, EPEL has experienced remarkable growth with the addition of The Basics of Greater Elgin under our umbrella and a new full-time staff member to lead this exciting work. Our reach and impact continue to expand as partners, families, and community champions step forward with passion and purpose—meeting families where they are, listening to their needs, and working together to remove barriers.
As we move forward with our five-year strategic plan, we are putting bold ideas into action. We are strengthening systems, elevating family voice, and ensuring that readiness begins long before a child walks into a kindergarten classroom.
Answering the call means saying yes—yes to innovation, yes to equity, yes to collaboration, and yes to every child’s potential. It means viewing readiness not as a moment in time, but as a community commitment that begins before birth and continues throughout life.
